Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Ms Christie Dougherty (f)

Ms. Christie Dougherty has recently joined the health centre team as a Healthcare Support Worker.  Christie will be working with the Practice Nurse (position is currently vacant), on a weekly basis.  She also shares her time with the Yell Health Centre.  Christie will be taking blood samples, ECGs, height and weight as well as blood pressure readings.  Our Healthcare Support Workers also will assist with annual review data collection. 

Mrs Vaila Thomason (f)

Mrs. Vaila Thomason works as one of our Healthcare Support Workers in the shared role with Mrs. Christie Dougherty.   Vaila also works as a reception staff.
