If you've developed a cough or fever in the last 7 days, stay at home for 7 days from the day your symptoms started. Only phone your GP or 111 if your symptoms are severe.

The Unst community is supported by GPs who are on duty 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.  The on call GP responds to ALL medical situations and will call for additional services (ambulance, police, coast guard) when required.

If something happens that you believe needs to be seen urgently, call 01957 711318.

This is the number in order to reach Unst emergency services.   We do not recommend calling 999 as this will not get a GP/first responder to the emergency any faster.

Calling 999 doesn’t work the same here as it would on mainland Shetland or the UK.  It is important to remember that the Unst ambulance crew are not trained first responders.
